Aquaculture and Sustainable Seafood

Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch

This first video from The Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program, shows how shrimp trawlers work.

In this second video, footage of a dredging trawler wreaking havoc on the sea floor is accompanied by a happy little soundtrack, showing how deeply disconnected so many of us are with the world that sustains us–and our impacts on it.

Earth Ocean Farms

Earth Ocean Farms are pioneers in sustainable offshore aquaculture. Established in La Paz, Mexico, they strive to raise the healthiest fish in a responsible and sustainable way. They also provide specialized jobs and generate economic development in the region where there is a high potential for this activity.

Sol Azul

Sol Azul leads sustainable, year round, oyster production in Baja California, Mexico. Their farms are located in the coastal lagoons of  “El Vizcaíno,” an internationally-recognized Biosphere Reserve on the West coast of the Baja Peninsula where the gray whales come to reproduce.
